The Surgery Department at KIMS is a cornerstone of excellence in medical education, research, and patient care. MISSION: As a pivotal component of the medical curriculum mission of surgery program is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of surgical principles, techniques, and ethical considerations. The clinical training is prioritized by providing students with hands-on experience in modern equipped skill lab and at CMH Karachi which is an affiliated tertiary care hospital.
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMME: This program provides a platform for the Medical Graduate to provide the bio-psycho-social care to the surgical patients. This can be achieved by simultaneously applying the knowledge and skills in a competent and ethical manner.

Prof. Arshad Malik
Head, Department of Surgery; Former Principal, KIMS
Prof. Arshad Malik is Professor and Head of the Department of Surgery at KIMS and has served as its Principal. He has over 45 publications, 35 international presentations, and is editor of five surgical books with four authored chapters. His academic and clinical focus includes trauma, gastrointestinal, breast, and endocrine surgery, with a strong commitment to surgical education and mentorship.
