The Research and Development (R&D) Cell of Karachi Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) functions under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. Shaheena, Director R&D. The Cell plays a pivotal role in promoting a strong research culture among faculty and undergraduate students. It facilitates research proposal development, ethical review, and project implementation in accordance with PMDC and NUMS guidelines. The R&D Cell provides academic mentoring, research training, and methodological support to enhance research quality. Regular workshops, journal clubs, and research orientation sessions are conducted to build research capacity. The Cell also encourages interdisciplinary and collaborative research. Under Prof. Dr. Shaheena’s guidance, faculty and students actively participate in institutional and national research initiatives.
